I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

ok!same way here ..i have curly hair and i strighten it when i want to go back i wet it ...then i apply anti-frizz serum[[any brand]] then i scrunch it alot ..to make then cute use your finger and make spirals ....maybe you could try a combing through before you scrunch so that there are no knots...if you have any more questions, ill be glad to answer

I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

two words... Soul Glow

I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

Get a leave in treatment to start with to repair the damage. next up try some frizz ease by john frieda. i swear by it! i use the anti frizz serrum and dream curls spray. works wonders on my frizz!

I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

since you have been straightening your hair for quite a while, it is probably dried out.

i suggest that first you go to a salon and get some sort of hydrating mask or treatment for your hair.

and as for products, i'd suggest either

herbal essences none of your frizzness or herbal essences totally twisted.

I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

u dont have to buy this...u can go bald then grow it back

I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

dont do frizzease. i hate that crap.... the dove products work wonders. i have horrible frizzy curly hair.

I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

i think your curly hair will be back for some time. from my experience i naturally have straight black hair. but i made it curly and bronze and then my hair was really dry. and then i went to sauna room and put a lot of hair conditioner on my hair.. unbelievable i've been doing that for only 2-3 days,, my hair became healthy again.

I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

John Frieda makes an anti-frizz... um... It's called "Curl Around" shampoo and conditioner. Besides smelling amazing, it really does smooth out frizz, and if your hair is naturally prone to curls, it will help bring them back. It's not the best curling shampoo out there, but it's pretty good for your hair and it's not horridly expensive. (Dove is good and moisturizing, but it will leave nasty build-up in your hair.) When you get out of the shower, let your hair dry to dampness and mix a little bit of gel with some leave-in conditioner and spray it in your hair. Lightly comb through and tussle it. After that you could try winding your damp hair around some foam rollers - the foam will be gentle on your damaged hair. If you're having frizz problems, I'd stay away from a curling iron. It will only make it worse :)

I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

try some frizz ease by john frieda, i swear by it!

I've got naturally curly hair but for the last 18 months have been straightening it?

my friend said john frieda is really good

Straighten hair - reason to hair loss ?

i straighten my hair before 2 weeks.

will shaving / cutting the hair will help ??

any ideas please ? how can i get more density hair ?

i'am 17yo.

:-(

Thanks for reading this.

Straighten hair - reason to hair loss ?

the fact that you straightened your hair could have something to do with it falling out now... and as for your suggestion about cutting it off.. i think that would probably help.

Straighten hair - reason to hair loss ?

i straighten my hair months ago but i dont think i had hair loss...

Straighten hair - reason to hair loss ?

People like animals have a shedding time and it is now ... Don't worry like all shedders the hair grows back...

Straighten hair - reason to hair loss ?

Massage aloe Vera gel over the scalp, leave it for about one hour. After this rinse the hair with warm water. It gives excellent results for hair loss if one uses this massage at least 3-4 times a week. Check out

How often to clean hair straighteners?

Hair straighteners (hair straightening irons) need to be cleaned every now and then with a wet cloth to remove residue froom heat protection sprays etc., or else their performance is not as good. How often are you supposed to clean your hair straighteners?

How often to clean hair straighteners?

I agree with after every straightening. Heat styling tools get buildup FAST with all the product used to protect hair. Product left on straighteners burns, then it burns into your hair. Yuck! What I do is dampen a non-abrasive washcloth and gently wipe the plates clean. No build up, ever!

How often to clean hair straighteners?

Clean them when you start to notice build up in them. Don't do it too often or you risk damaging them.

atleast once a week.. *that's how often I clean mine and I use it 3 times per week... make sure it is not over done.. you dont want to damage your straightener

How to straighten hair to make it full and shiny?

I have a 1 in. Hai ceramic straightener and long hair about 5-7 inches past my shoulders. is there a certain way i should straighten my hair to get it thefullest and shiniest it can be. b.c sometimes when i straighten my hair it gets kind of piecy instead of full and smooth. i know my hair wont be perfect, but any tips?

btw: i know how to straighten hair, i know in layers and small sections. but anything beyond that?

How to straighten hair to make it full and shiny?

I am telling you from personal experience... especially if you live in the high static part of the country right now (Kentucky), when using your ceramic flat iron, I would suggest instead of going out and buying high priced pre-treatment for your hair at a salon, go to a Walmart or any drugstore that has a nice selection of hair products (CVS or Walgreen閳ユ獨) and look for John Frieda閳ユ獨 Frizz Ease and a good shampoo for shine. A lot of dullness comes from the type of shampoo we use, so if you want volume and shine, find (and stick with) a good shampoo and conditioner that "clarifies". AVOID PANTENE PRODUCTS. Even a professional will tell you this. They smell nice, but cause buildup on the scalp and hair causing a dull tone. You might find Color Vive has products for all ranges of hair and problems. There is one with an antioxidant feature that strengthens and also adds shine. It has worked for me... and I have processed (color treated) hair. After you wash your hair and your hair is still wet, add a dab of the John Frieda閳ユ獨 Original Frizz Ease. From the length of your hair, I would suggest 2 quarter sizes if your hair is thick. One if it is fine in texture. Blow dry and then straighten. The Frizz Ease works great with the iron unlike anything I have ever used before and it doesn't cause me to break out. Follow it up with a glossing spray my John Frieda. You can't go wrong with these products for the price. I have used them for years and highly recommend them. So for the volume and the shine, there you go.

P.S. If you want to test drive a new product, Loreal閳ユ獨 site is currently running free samples of the Vive Pro Nutri Gloss. Look at the bottom right hand side of the link page for sample sign-up. Hope this helps.

Can i curl my chemically straightened hair with a curling iron?

i know it sounds stupid but i really need to curl my hair but i just recently chemically straightened it at the salon. so would it still curl if i curl it?

Can i curl my chemically straightened hair with a curling iron?

nope,

as much as you try it won't.

if u do, it'll curl all messed up.

Can i curl my chemically straightened hair with a curling iron?

yeah, but you would have to keep curling it, especially with frizz-busting products.

If you were to just curl it without any products, your curls would frizz in the humidity.

Using heat every day to maintain a style can damage your hair in the long run, especially now that you've applied a chemical service to your hair. Whether you perm or relax, the chemicals break the chemical bonds in your hair and weaken the shaft (your hair is comprised of dead cells anyway), leading to extensive breakage with prolonged use. Then come the products that you have to keep buying to keep your hair from breaking. Having a relaxer is costly, isn't it?

Did your stylist tell you all this when you got your services?

Can i curl my chemically straightened hair with a curling iron?

Yes but you will need to use low heat.

Can i water-proof my straightened hair?

ok, so i have curly-ish hair that i straighten. but, when i go swimming, i don't want it to curl up again. is there any way to prevent this?

Can i water-proof my straightened hair?

Hi

There is no way you can do this im afraid. However there are things you can do to help.

Wear your hair up in a high pony tail when swimming. This will stop too much water going on it in the first place which will limit the frizz/curling up again. Also wear a thick hair band around your head.

You can also buy products which protect the hair from moisture... but an actual swimming pool is moisture to the extreme and they are more meant for humid weather, light rain etc.... so they will help in these circumstances.

GHD protection spray contains a light hairspray type product which helps for the above conditions - humid weather etc. Its not a mircle but its the best ive tried in helping keeping hair straight. Also apply a de frizz serum.

X

Can i water-proof my straightened hair?

I don't think that you can. Because once it's wet, it's wet. Sorry, but i don't think they have it yet.

Can i water-proof my straightened hair?

ok well i dont no anything that can "waterproof" you hair but there is something that is like permenantly straighten it. my hair was always naturlly curly but then when i bought this stuff my hair is always straight even after i get out of the water and it is surprisingly cheap like im talking 5$ for this and it works great im not quite shure what its called but its in where you can like perm your own hair and color your hair and that place

Can i water-proof my straightened hair?

you can get your hair permanently straightened at a salon?

Can i water-proof my straightened hair?

Ask a black girl how to keep curly hair straight...You will get an answer but you may not like it...When ever I get my hair straighten to keep it straight I put bees wax in it...This will keep you hair straight but white people don't usualy use stuff like this in their hair because you have to wash it all the time...but it will keep curly hair straight...lol

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

i have never straightened my hair and i want to . i heard irons are bad bcz of the heat but are the chemical creams worse??

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

They can severely dry out your hair. If you want chemical straightening don't do it at home. A stylist will give you the right concentration plus a deep conditioning afterward that will minimize the damage. Still, it will be weaker after the treatment than before, because the chemical breaks down your hair structure and re-bonds it to make it straight. Do it if you want, but be sure to treat your hair carefully and use good conditioning products to protect it afterward.

Also there is the benefit that you will use the iron a lot less if the hair is straighter to begin with. You still might use it some though.

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

use the creams

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

Not so bad, they used to have lye- agh

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

Not exactly sure. But what they say that its guaranteed if you'll spoil your hair if you straighten it. However you can help by using conditioners.

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

If you are african american and you want to straighten your hair start witha mild relaxer like just for me or go to a salon. I would not advise using hot combs and things like that becuase it will break your hair if you do it too much

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

if you scratch your scalp alot-wash your hair a day before .....the relaxer will burn your hair may possibly catch on fire(not really) but it will burn.....if you don't scratch then you don't have nothing to worry about......heat is bad for your hair/may damage your hair...but its cool to use every once in awhile

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

if ur not careful tha chemical creams could dry your hair out but i straighten my hair almost everyday and if you use sumthing like pink oil moisturizer or heat guard stuff then it wont burn!

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

Go to a salon.

An iron doesn't do much damage if you know how to use em. ;D

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

chemicals are probably worse, but i no from expirience that irons give you split ends. but it seems to me that curly hair gets splits anyway... but conditioner helps.

How bad are chemicals that straighten hair?

chemicals are not as bad as actually straightening it. straitening fries Ur hair chemicals can be washed out or moisturized back healthy. if u do decide to straighten your hair get a ceramic straightener it does way less damage to your hair. and helps minimize split ends and helps hair look healthy not fried

Does the new wet or dry straightening irons work on very kinky black hair? especially the ones by T3

no i hear they suck honestly, i know the chi straighten works amazingly on black hair

Does the new wet or dry straightening irons work on very kinky black hair? especially the ones by T3 bespoke?

yesssss! i love it this morning i woke up took a shower and used the straightener my hair came out just fine! =)

Does the new wet or dry straightening irons work on very kinky black hair? especially the ones by T3 bespoke?

if you buy the "wet to straight" iron then your hair will not be as dry

or straight if you straighten it wet

but if you straighten it dry it will be fine..

i hate staghtening my hair while it is still wet

im only 11 and i straighten my hair with this

ok well see ya

Does the new wet or dry straightening irons work on very kinky black hair? especially the ones by T3 bespoke?

I've never tried it. I have a Sedu and I love it.

Does the new wet or dry straightening irons work on very kinky black hair? especially the ones by T3 bespoke?

i am a professional and to be honest i love chi. but i think that wet to dry isnt worth $200. i mean it works, but you kind of have to dry your a hair a little bit first. just get a chi iron and blow dry your hair first. i know it takes a little more time bit atleast you know its safe

What is the best hair straightener?

What's the best quality hair straightening iron that works well for thick wavy hair, that is also not too expensive, and is easy to work with. Also I want something that will make your hair poker straight without having to do it more than once to get it looking nice.

Sedu......but they're kinda pricey.

What is the best hair straightener?

like some said, GHD are great but can be pricey....the best inexpensive one I've used is probably hottools, but I like the ceramic ones better if you don't mind shelling out like 200+ bucks.

What is the best hair straightener?

GHD is definitely the best and worth the price!

What is the best hair straightener?

you get what you pay for

What is the best hair straightener?

nature

What is the best hair straightener?

i would say ghd

What is the best hair straightener?

Conair makes some really good ceramic straighteners that usually cost about 20 to 30 dollars. The best straightener I've used personally is Ion ceramic straighteners. They usually cost about 200 dollars but if catch them on sale they can be anywhere between 70 and 100 dollars. You can also use straigtening products that help get your hair straighter, like beyond the zone straight shot. Its this cream stuff you put in your hair when its wet that gets your hair real straight. Hope I helped!

What is the best hair straightener?

sorry nothing beats ghds, they are the best on the market with a price to match, you can get them cheaper on ebay though. but some of the irons that are out now are just as good in the way of temp which is what gives you the best result, go and ask in a hair suppliers, dont let them talk into buying what they want to sell

Nikkei Red Hair Straightener?

Right, first things first, I'm a guy so I don't really know much about hair straightening. I'm getting kinda tired of my curly hair, so I decided to buy a straightener. I bought the Nikkei Red, but I can't get it as smooth as my girlfriend made mine with her GHD. So am I using it wrong? Or is the GHD just that much better? Thanks =)

Straighten hair after applying hair color spray?

well, my hair is not exactly straight and i was wondering if i can apply the (non-permanent) hair color spray on my hair(before i straighten it) and then straighten my hair afterwards.

can it work?

hair damage?

it's just for 1 day

Straighten hair after applying hair color spray?

Do not spray on the color before straightening your hair. Your hair will get burnt %26amp; the color will get on the iron.

Straighten hair after applying hair color spray?

i think the color will stick onto the straightener...and hair damage for sure

Straighten hair after applying hair color spray?

it might work but it might also just strip the color right out

thats what happened to my hair when i did it

if your hair is long or medium long i'd use big hot rollers to make sure to not strip color but also to creat a hot style

it will definatly damage it

Straighten hair after applying hair color spray?

sure go right ahead

Straighten hair after applying hair color spray?

Straigten first.

It will heat up and make ur straightner all sticky it will also damage ur hair!

Straighten hair after applying hair color spray?

Straighten your hair first, then apply the colour because I've tried that before and not only did it fade the colour with the heat, it ruined my sister's straightners too xxxx

Straighten hair after applying hair color spray?

I don't really think that is a good idea.

Its not good for your hair.

It will take out the colour in your hair.

will leave your straightener with colour marks.

and there are probably more things to it as well

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

Basically, pretty much everyone has something they hate about themselves, unfortunately for me, its my hair. Born with an affro and have allways hated it, but was wondering if anyone has tried chemical hair straightening and if its really worth the hefty price tag

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

I know some friends who used chemical straighteners and they work. For a long time.

I'd really like to look into this, too. I'm white and I have afro hair, it's so annoying.

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

it does work, but it can come out looking sorta flat and gross

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

Yeah it works but it frazzles your hair : (

My friend had it and it made her hair look lifeless.

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

it works and your hair will stay straight for a few months, but it can get veeerry dry. just deep condition

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

depends on how afroish ur hair is

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

yes but i wouldnt do it

because i might damage your hair to the max

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

Yes i use it.

It can make your hair pretty dry but not lifeless.

My hair still has bounce. If you do do it you have to remember to keep your hair moisturized otherwise it will break off.

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

yes, it works. but be careful. make sure you do not have any sensitivities to the chemicals. and be sure that the person you have do your hair has plenty of experience with your hair type. see if you can talk to or meet some of their past and present customers. if you do it yourself, make sure you follow directions and patch test. if you are not careful, you could end up bald with scabs on your head. I made mistake of using someone who did not know what they were doing and was just starting out as a hair dresser, and she nearly ruined my scalp, permanently!

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

someone i know just got is straightened and her hair was EXTREMELY curly before. it looks really good. It was flat for the first day or two but after you wash and dry it yourself, it looks really good. the only bad part is that it grows in curly, so if you dont get it touched up every couple of months it will be half straight and half curly.

hope that helped

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

yea it works i know what you mean i hate my hair too.. i have a friend who does it and i really want to...

i have to straighten my hair every morning and i hate it...

but i do know it works

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

i got it done this summer..nd i lov it..its awesome..my hair use to be like extra curly nd extra puffy..nd i have a lot of hair too..nd yea basically it works..it came out pin straight...nd it still is like that..nd its been 4 months..oh nd its not dry...or anything...it feels awesome to have straight hair!!

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

i guess it all depends on your hair type. My cousin had it done a while ago, and for the 7-8 months that it lasted it looked wonderful (then again, she loves anything that adds volume to her hair, so i couldn't tell you if it was "dead and dangling" or not)

But there is also another girl I know who had it done a month or so ago and it looks terrible!.

If you still are considering getting it done, I would do a little research (sorry). If you can find a salon that is professional and specializes in processes like that, go for it. Otherwise, I'd wait and invest in a really good flat iron.

Does chemical hair starightening really work?

i put relaxers/chemical straightners in my hair...mom used to put them in my hair when i was younger because that was easier for her to deal with. as a child, it was easy to put my hair up in braids, but when i got to be school age, wearing braids was too "kiddish"...mom's option was to have a beautician relax my hair...to this day, i have continued to put relaxers in my hair. some ppl cant put them in their hair..i have never experienced hair loss from relaxers, so i cant say anything bad about them. i dont go to beauticians, i do the home kits, and still no problem....its cheaper doing them yourself, but if its your first time, i would go to a beautician.

My sister-in-law is looking to straighten her hair without much damage.?

My sister-in-law has shoulder length hair and would like to know what products she should use that will cause minimal damage. For those of you who straighten hair, either for others or yourself, please let me know what products that have worked best for you. And can you give me any tips of the trade you know that will give her the best result. And if you could also tell me step by step instructions on pre and post care of her hair.

My sister-in-law is looking to straighten her hair without much damage.?

Well..I use a Conair straightener..its not expensive its as great as ones that air..Also, Bed Head is a good product just for like frizzy-ness and such, any thing that holds fly-away hair from..in fact flying away! Also I would suggest Redken as a shampoo, its not expensive either.

She could always get a chemical straigten, which would leave it straight for like 3 months or perm. straightening..which is..perm. Good luck

My sister-in-law is looking to straighten her hair without much damage.?

I have a chi straightener which I absolutely love! It's the best, it works so well and it doesn't damage my hair. It has ceramic plates, that don't rip or burn hair. I just recommend that she doesn't straighten her hair everyday because that is usually what caues the damage. Chi's are expensive (a little under $200), but the amount I use it is worth it. Chi also have a line of hair products that you can use with the straightener to prevent damage.

My sister-in-law is looking to straighten her hair without much damage.?

i use a straining iron i think thats good

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gon

My hair is super damaged. I tried curling it by scrunching it. It doesn't work. It gets all frizzy and doesn't even curl or get wavy. I straighten my hair every day (%26amp; blow dry). I can tell me hair has gotten very thin. I think it's gonna fall out. I hate it. I have lots of split ends and my hair just breaks. I need a new way to do my hair without straightening it or scrunching it.

Any oppions?

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

Let it go natural for a few and put in in a poney tail or a headband!!

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

It wont fall out, get it trimmed so the damaged ends are cut off and it will look healthier and more volume.

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

don't straighten it for awhile and then try it.

Your hair is dry from straighting it and winter is coming up so you probable should not straighten it at all during the winter.

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

just let it dry naturally for a while and get a different kind of shampoo that is especially for dry and damaged hair. dont do anything to it and just put it up or wear it natural with anti-frizz product in it, i'm sure it's not dreadful natural. if you have side bangs only straighten your side bangs and if you dont want to wear it up in a bun or a pony tail then wear it down with a band

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

get a hair cut to get rid of the split ends. and just let your hair air dry. also try using volumizing shampoo if ur hair is thin. also they make shampoo for damaged hair. and if u continue to straighten ur hair, use products that help protect ur hair.

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

I have the same exact problem. i've been straighting my hair since like 5th grade and i have lotz of split ends but itz not frizzy but i blow dry and straighten my hair too everyday!!

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

al im gonna say is snip snip snip snip snip snip snip snip snip snip snip.... i hope you got my point chop it off and start over, cut your hair like the link shows. feels great.

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

You are damaging your hair, if you put heat on it everyday that's not good. You need to go to a salon, have them cut off the dead ends-because your hair will not become healthy w/ split ends. They will condition your hair and give it new life. Don't use heat to curl your hair, do it the old fashion way-rollers! They work w/out damaging your hair at all.

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

Trim the ends. Don't straighten it for a few days. And maybe you need to change the kind of shampoo that you are currently using.

My hair is super damaged. Tried scrunching it. Doesn't work. I straighten it every day. Its gonna fall out!

hey..i seriously think u should stop straightening your hair or blow dry it already. i think the only way is to visit a professional at a salon..

Help! Hair won't straighten!?

I JUST bought a new CHI straightner and it seems my hair wont straighten without going over the peice about 5 times.

When I blow dry it first it gts real curly and poofy. I do u frizz stuff and straightening gel stuff from sudio v or whatever. HELP!

Help! Hair won't straighten!?

yes u do have to keep going over it a few times.. i have a CHI also. i've read everywhre that it's the best one.. =T. what i do is try to dry my hair naturally... then put a CHI serum on, or conditioner, and wait a few minutes to soak in, and then use the CHI.

also, if ur in a bind, blow dry ur hair, but try to leave in a towel for 5 minutes, then naturally dry for 5-10 minutes, then blow dry.

good luck!

Help! Hair won't straighten!?

Maybe you should try straightening your hair when it has more natural oils. It's hard to do when you just got out of the shower or blow dried it. Wait a few more hours or days before you use the straightener. A CHI?! Wow, that's nice. I only have a Conair, but it still works for me!

Help! Hair won't straighten!?

Invest in some GHD hair straighteners- well worth it.

Help! Hair won't straighten!?

If you earn enough money go to the Walgreen's nearest to you and buy a hair straightener.

Help! Hair won't straighten!?

I have perfected the Chi straigthening game. First, when drying your hair, use a dab of Chi smoothing serum. Apply a second dab once hair is completely dry. Then, it is a MUST that you use a styling spray. It protects your hair from the Chi's heat, it adds great shine to your hair, and it aids with the straightening process. I recommend "Soya Want Flat Hair Spray," by Healthy Sexy Hair. Then, you need to section your hair and straigthen in using small sections. It works best if you pile all your hair on top of your head with a clip and single out a section at a time with a comb. Spray each section, use the Chi, and in no time, you will have great, straight hair!

Good Luck!

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

Please look at my other questions about hair straightening and see if you can help. But most answers have said that my hair is being damaged and if a good conditioner would help please tell me what ones you suggest I use. I'm getting really stressed out and worrried that I've damaged my hair!!

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

Hi Hannah

I have used straighteners for 3 years+ and according to my hairdresser my hair is in good condition.

Heres what I do:

Condition my hair every time I wash. I use Kerastase shampoo and conditioner.

When straightening (and this is really important!) run the straighteners through the hair quickly and repeatedly, do not hold them on the hair in one place.

Using a hot style constructor can help.

Put the hairdryer on a cool setting and blast through the hair at the end of the styling.

Get hair trimmed regularly so split ends don't have a chance.

I use GHD's. Check out their website for tips.

If your hair is damaged, you may need to have it cut. You didn't mention if you bleach or dye your hair. This may have an impact on the condition.

Wee pet, don't worry, a good hairdresser should be able to sort things out for you.

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

cut it and stop using the straighteners.

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

go get like an inch of your hair cut off to get rid of any split ends, then use pantene conditioner for damaged hair. When applying it let it sit in your hair for 3-5 minuites. Put extra at the ends.

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

I've had exactly the same problem - try using Charles Worthington Moisture-Seal (in square yellow bottle), it's fantastic and not too strong (i.e. will soften and heal your hair without grease)

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

Get an inch or 2 cut off to get rid of fried ends and then use Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Deep Conditionar. It can cure up to 2 yrs of damage in just a month.

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

you really need to get your hair cut and stop using the straightners as much give your hair a chance no amount of conditioner will repair your damaged hair

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

I use ghd straigheners every day and had my hair cut last week, my hairdresser told me that the underneath was so damaged by them that he had to cut it shorter than the rest of my hair just to get all the split/damaged ends off, conditioner isnt going to help, have to get all the damaged bits cut off and stop using them or dramatically cut down %26amp; always use a good protector, the one by Toni %26amp; Guy is good but won't stop the damage!

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

try using heat protecting syrum before you use the straighteners.

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

first off get a hair cut because if you don't then the split ends will move further up your hair, damaging it even more and then you'll have to cut of even more. Secondly try a special conditioner such as frizz-ease's straightening one which is designed specifically for use with hair straighteners so it will protct your hair. Also use a deep conditioning treatment at least once a week. If you can stay off the hair straighteners for a while too just to let your hair recover.

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

1. Get to the hairdresser %26amp; get your ends cut and an intensive contioning treatment

2. when straightening your hair in future use a heat protection spray (toni %26amp; guys is fab!)

3. Use an intesive moisturising conditioner on your hair once/twice a week (I use Nicky Clarke, and V05 hot oil treatments)

4. Dont brush your hair too hard!

5. Use a strenghtening shampoo %26amp; conditioner, fructis do a fab one! i think its called Strength and Shine

6. think of your hair like you do your skin, if your skin was cracked and really dry, you wouldnt leave it like that and carry on would you?! Look after your hair and straightening shouldnt be a problem, i've been straighetneing mine for about 4 years now and my hair is always gloss and super straight purely because i look after it!

Dont stress out, treat it to a big fat pile of intensive conditioner and maybe give up the straightening for a day or two (sorry! have it tousled or something, scrunch some mouse in your hair twist your hair up in a bun, let it dry naturally, after about an hour or two take it out run your fingers through it spritz lightly with hairspray and ta-dah! beautiful tousled hair)

Better to have a few bad hair days than have your hair fall out!!

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

superdrug do good hair conditioning treatments and herbal essences have good conditioners look out for one that says for dry damaged hair and ones for damaged hair by straighteners you should always use a heat protective spray kertase (i don't know how to spell it) have this thing for people addicted to using straighteners etc. why don't you get you hair permanently straightened that way you aren't getting it done every day.

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

I find the best thing for heat or colour damaged hair is something called the Australian 3-minute Restorative Conditioner. It comes in a big bottle or little sachets for single use. Try a sachet first - wash your hair as normal and use this as a conditioner. It says to leave for 3 minutes and then rinse. I usually leave it on for about 5-6 minutes. It really works wonders!! (Boots, Superdrug and Sainsburys usually sell it.)

So I think my hair is damaged from straighteners, what conditioner is the best to use?????????

How do you keep your hair from getting frizzy when going out?

every time i go out to a frat or a club, within about a half hour, my perfect hair style is ruined and my hair is frizzy again. i have spent loads of money on hair straightening products that work well during the day but i need something that will keep my hair nice when i go out to a frat or club at night.

How do you keep your hair from getting frizzy when going out?

There is a special kind of flat iron called a Chi. It works!! It stays straight in all kinds of humidity. I have the kind of hair that no flat iron has ever worked on, so I was very skeptical when I was told about the Chi. My sister bought one and I used hers before I bought mine to make sure it would work, and it does!! The secrete is the heat tiles are ceramic. You can buy one at a Sally's beauty supply, and if you don't have one, google it to find out where you can buy one. They cost about $100. It is worth it.

How do you keep your hair from getting frizzy when going out?

I like to use Aussie frizz control. Other products like herbal essences and bed head work well too. Good luck!

i love using SILK THERAPY by biosilk. i carry around a little mini bottle to even out hair if it gets frizzy.

Shouold I get my hair chemically Straightened?

I have Thick, shoulder length, brown, layered hair. My hair is VERYYYYY wavy. I have to straighten it everyday for school. I don't want to damage my hair anymore and I want to stop straightening my hair everyday. should i get i done?

Shouold I get my hair chemically Straightened?

either way you're gonna damage it. stick with your natural hair! it's what makes you you and wavy hair is cute!

Shouold I get my hair chemically Straightened?

yea my friend did it and it looked so good

Shouold I get my hair chemically Straightened?

Noooo. Chemicals are so unhealthy for your hair, hun.

I used to have the exact same (thick, shoulder length, brown, layered) hair before I cut it short. Just thin it out a little bit, but don't straighten it! Your waves are unique, and I bet you look great with them. But if you really want straight hair, it would be worth it in the long run just to straighten it everyday. Say no to chemicals ;P

Shouold I get my hair chemically Straightened?

I would suggest finding a hair style that complements your hair type. You also need to wash your hair with a high ph balanced shampoo every seven to ten days. Try using a shampoo for dry or damaged hair. Always, always use a conditioner because your hair is damaged for sure. Your hair will be way more manageable and you won't have to straighten your hair everyday. After you get your hair back on track you should not have to use the straighten comb. You will be down to once a week if that.

Shouold I get my hair chemically Straightened?

Actually, if you find a good salon, it might be quite worth doing it, since it can be quite troublesome to straightened it everyday. Chemicals are not that bad, if you use the organic types. But do remember to care for your hair even more after you straightened it because it needs more attention than before to prevent damages.

Will hair straightenening creams cause hair damage and loss?

I wanna try a hair straightening cream by Glatt Schwarzkopf, what do you think? I am a male 27 years old

Will hair straightenening creams cause hair damage and loss?

No way, as long as you put a tiny pea size blob in your hair and spred it evenly.

Do not put it into your scalp or roots, you won't be straighting them parts!!! Plus there a small chance that it can cause hair loss, not a great amount, maybe a few more strands than usual! But it's not good for the future!!

Schwarzkopf is a good public make, go for it.

Will hair straightenening creams cause hair damage and loss?

i thinks guys straightening hair is sooo cool - lol - sorri i dont now the answer to your question !

Will hair straightenening creams cause hair damage and loss?

I don't know personally but a friend of mine said that it really made her hair weak and brittle. You should try a leave in conditioner like Garnier Sleek and Shine and just blow dry it straight unless your hair is longer then I would suggest using a straightener, but I am just assuming that your hair is short so using the leave in conditioner with the blow drying would do it. Hope that helps!

Will hair straightenening creams cause hair damage and loss?

make sure you use a conditioner if you're going to use hair straightening creams, this will make the shaft of your hair stronger---and more resistant to any damage that could occur....also, if you're going to use a hair straightening tool (like a flat iron), use a heat protectant cream or oil that will help hair to not break.

Should i permanently straighten my hair or straighten my hair every morning with a flat iron?

i've been straightening my hair every morning (with a flat iron) for the past year and i was wondering if i would be better off to permanently straighten it.

Should i permanently straighten my hair or straighten my hair every morning with a flat iron?

well its still not going to be perfectly straight if you get it chemically straightened, so you'll still need touchups with a flat iron. so my chocie would be hte flat iron. al you have to do is jsut use a really good heat protector!

=]]

Should i permanently straighten my hair or straighten my hair every morning with a flat iron?

no unless you really sure chemicals can damage your hair

Should i permanently straighten my hair or straighten my hair every morning with a flat iron?

do u like straiting it every morning?

Question about getting my thick hair professionally straightened?

Everyday to every other day i straightened my hair for a solid hour, i have curly hair, yes i have lost a lot of my curls because i have been straightening my hair for 3 years or more. But i have thickk hair, somewhat short (so i can handle it better) But i have been thinking about doing the permanent straightening (yes i know it grows out)

my question is, because my hair is thick will it make it puffy or be exactly how i straighten it? How much? How long?

Question about getting my thick hair professionally straightened?

h

Question about getting my thick hair professionally straightened?

It should be how you straighten it. But pricing depends on where you go and I think it lasts about six months before the roots show.

Question about getting my thick hair professionally straightened?

It'll be a little puffy. You'll still have to straighten it.

Question about getting my thick hair professionally straightened?

Well, it does grow out so it will be harder to get the roots, but it last for about 2-3 months.

New to straightening irons... help?

ok i'm a guy with hair down to about my eyes. I started using a hair straightening iron because my hair is so wavy that it is impossible to do without at this length. It looks amazing straight :) but i need some advice since I'm new.

1) I'm straightening it once a day because my hair goes back to usual after it's wet. Is this too often?

2) Do hair straightening creams work well enough so that I can use it often enough to give my hair a break from the iron? can I use it in my hair while ironing?

3) I use a good conditioner very thoroughly. What other products can I use to protect my hair from iron damage? I've heard of balms, heat protection etc,,, but i'm clueless to this stuff

4) My iron can only be used when the hair is dry. Does that mean can't put any heat protection products in my hair at the time of using the iron?

So I need all the advice I can get since I'm new (and a guy without the hair expertize ofcourse!) thanks =]

New to straightening irons... help?

What you need is a better hot Iron. Buy one of these, it will keep your hair straight, shinny and very healthy looking until it gets wet!

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search...

These are amazing!n You hair will look like comercial hair, the after of course!

New to straightening irons... help?

1) No it's not too often if you're using a high quality ceramic/tourmaline plate iron and a thermal spray.

2) No straightening creams or shampoos will not make your hair straight without styling tools - at least a blow dryer

3) Conditioner doesn't protect you from damage. At cheapest, V05 Miracle Mist does great for thermal protection and holding the straight style.

4) Yes you can apply the thermal protection sprays on your hair at the time of iron use. Just don't soak your hair with it, spray LIGHTLY.

New to straightening irons... help?

I'm a guy who flat irons too :D

1) once a day is too much, you'll be fine if you wash your hair every other day.if it messes up when you sleep on it, try wearing a bandanna to bed to keep your hair put, and touch up any messed up parts in the morning if they are pointing in a bad direction. If you wear a bandanna to bed you will def not need to falt iron your whole head again...

2)try a hair serum of some sort, or a good thermal protecting flat iron spray...go to a salon and ask for suggestions on a product for this, they can be very helpful. Biosilk, or Regis Silk Drops are great.

3)use a moisturizing deep conditioner, or pantene conditioners for moisture.

4)you can put flat ironing products in your hair and immediately flat iron. Thats what they are for. If the product sizzles a bit while you pass over the hair, dont worry about it since that is the product getting seared and not your hair, which is a good thing. Never flat iron if your actual hair is wet from water, and dont saturate your hair in products. it's unessesary. Use a basic amount and use your good judgment.

Enjoy your new style i been flat ironing my hair for 3 months now so i'm pro lol

New to straightening irons... help?

why don't you try going to the beauty shop? going to a professional of hair once a week or once every two weeks will help. you need to realize that you can't handle your hair. advice is not what you need! you need professional help!!!!!!!!!!!

New to straightening irons... help?

i Ihave kinda short hair about 3-4 inches long and its also wavy and out of controll...i flat iron every day too

1) Straightening every day isnt too often only if you put the moisture you take out of your hair back in youll be okay.

2) I use bedhead contol freak serum (it fights humidity and is a thermal protector, i use nexxus heat protex as well.

3) I use infusium 23 moistureoligy shampoo and conditioner. It works really well with my hair type also nexxus hummestress is awsome to use.

4) You can use heat protection products at the same time but its better to make sure your hair is dry before ironing(blow dry before). It cuts down on the steam created by the iron which can burn your scalp.

I have been flat ironing my hair for almost 5 years now and beleive me it takes alot of experimenting with products to find out which one works the best for you. and make sure you use a good flat iron because the cheap ones will destroy your hair.

Good Luck and have fun

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

I've seen commercials about this a long time ago, but what products should I use to stop this? It looks really bad, and I usually use a little gel to keep it down, but sometimes that makes it look bad. Is there some anti-static stuff I put in beforehand? If so, what is it, and when do I put it in?

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

I've used Citre Shine Anti Frizz Serum and Garnier Sleek %26amp; Shine Serum. Both have worked very well keeping static down. You can use them on wet or dry hair, but I usually use on wet.

Try using a serum pacifically for straightened hair - Kerastase have a good one called Oleo Relax. Don't overload with product just a small amount. Distribute starting at the ends and then use whats left on the roots.

REMEMBER: Less is more.

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

Try spraying your brush with Static Guard and then running it through your hair. It works great!

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

If you use a leave in conditioner after you towel dry your hair, it will keep the static away. Just a dime size will do the trick.

Try Paul Mitchell Leave-In Conditioner.

Good luck!

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

there's a really easy simple solution. after you straighten, put on some lotion (just regular lotion and put it where you would normally put lotion, face, arms, legs etc.) and the tiny leftover lotion still left on your palm, just smear across your hair. the hair should stay down yet not show any signs of lotion. another plus is that your hair will look shiny and moisturized

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

I am a hairstylist and the best thing is to use a lite oil sheen.

You can find it at Regis Hairsalon it called shine mist.

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

Here are a few things you can do that will help...

1) Use an anti-static comb after straightening your hair.

2) After straightening, spray you hair with a leave-in conditioner.

3)Before straightening, use a glossing spray or a light oil sheen. This will also protect your hair from damage.

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

well i used to always get static hair but it was when it got cold outside so i went to yahoo answers to see what could stop it and some people said 2 use lotion and that worked and sometimes i put hairspray in my brush and there is one thing that i never tryed. its static gaurd i think and its used for a coutch but most of my answers said to use that.

hope this was helpfull

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

You can get many products that help with static. The cause of static is charged particles in your hair. Using a hairbrush, straightener, or blowdryer labeled as "Ionic" or using ions. This will positively charge your hair and reduce static.

You can also use a thermal product designed to be used prior to heat styling. They usually come in a spray and are applied to roots and all over and then combed through the hair to distribute evenly. Using a product like this will give you vital protection from the damaging heat and help eliminate flyaways.

Another alternative to gel is a silicone-based shine product. You either spritz it a few times or rub a few drops between your hands and smooth over hair. It will cut static and give you an added boost of shine without weighing down your hair or making it crunchy.

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

I used to have the same problem. If you don't already use conditioner, then look for one with heat protection or a conditioner specially for heat damaged hair. Also, make sure hair is completely dry before straightening. If it isn't, your hair will be even more brittle and staticy. Then, you can look for special protecting sprays to prevent damage. I use ion anti frizz solutions heat protection [you can find it at Sally Beauty Supply] Try to avoid putting too much of it in your hair or near your scalp, because it can sometimes make your hair greasy.

hope this helps!

:]

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

I use a flat iron on my hair EVERY day. I also have the problem with static. After you straighten your hair, take a USED dryer sheet and stroke it through your hair. Sounds odd...but it does work I swear. I do this everyday after I straighten it and it stays static free.

Goodluck :-)

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

I think you should use some kind of shine spray, comb it, and then flat-iron it, my hair also looks very "stat-icy" after flat-ironing. You could also use a frizz-ease cream called "secret weapon" that help flatten flay-aways ( I think that's what it said...) at it would also probably help to use it after you flat-iron, and don't forget to use a heat-protecting spray so that the flat-iron doesn't damage your hair!!

But I don't think there is anti-static stuff that you could put in your hair though...

Good Luck!!!

:) :) :)

After straightening using flat iron, I get "static" hair for 2 days?

I was fighting static in my hair the other day and a friend told me to rub a fabric softener sheet over and through my hair. I was totally amazed. It works a treat. I thought my hair would look dull or feel icky but it works great.

Urinating on your hair helps to keep it straight.

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

I have chemically straightened my hair 3 times in the last 9 months. The first time it worked great, by the third time it hardly made an impact and left my hair as it was. How do I resolve this problem?

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

It doesn't seem as if you've overprocessed your hair due to the time frame and the frequency of using a chemical straightener. I'm wondering if you're retouching your new growth or reprocessing your entire head? Oftentimes chemical straighteners are ineffective due to overprocessing, previous damage or relaxer misuse. Do you fit in any of those categories? If so you need a protein treatment immediately so that you can repair the damage to hair and return to your normal tresses.

I suggest you consult a professional to rebuild your hair structure and invest in a nonchemical straightener such an maxi glide or ionic iron.

The answer to your primary question, yes you can constantly chemically straighten your hair but you have to understand you are using chemicals and you have to be extremely careful while performing the procedure and how you care for your hair between applications.

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

try japanese hair straightning.

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

Have you heard of the bio-ionic hair procedure? It's absoloutely fantastic!! I've done it and you only need to do it once every year. It makes your hair look like silk. It's just a bit pricey.

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

for curly hair, use a relaxer, (it is a black hair care product ), you will need to make sure you us it correctly, and condition your hair extremely well, after wards. it is usually use once a month

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

try it the american way umph..

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

give your hair a rest inbetween or it'll die out on you.

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

yes.

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

Inosha, hair is already dead--it's non-living matter because it cannot regenerate itself like, say, skin can. Other than the lack of nerves, hair and skin are very, very similar. See what I'm getting at here? Any sort of chemical process alters the structure of your hair; multiple procedures often end up ineffectual because of this. You're not doing your hair or yourself any favors by frying it--doing so just begets more irreversible problems, as evidenced by your situation.

Is it possible to constantly chemically straighten hair?

Stop using the chemical straightening if its no longer taking. and just use a flat iron,

What can i put in/on my hair to protect it when i am straightening it?

ANy beauty products like sprays?

What can i put in/on my hair to protect it when i am straightening it?

if you are talking about a flat iron...i use loreal hot straight balm. it comes in a pink bottle and it really smells good. protects your hair from heat....

What can i put in/on my hair to protect it when i am straightening it?

There are good products out there...ask your hairdresser or browse in a good chemist and find one.

What can i put in/on my hair to protect it when i am straightening it?

There is a Frizz Ease straightening spray. It can help protect it, just make sure that your hair is getting enough moisture because straightening it does dry it out. Also, be careful what kind of straightener you use. The ceramic or teflon ones are pretty good and don't fall for the one's that claim to dry and straighten your hair. That is basically damage city.

What can i put in/on my hair to protect it when i am straightening it?

best thing to do is use titanium straightners

What can i put in/on my hair to protect it when i am straightening it?

I don't know about sprays, but there are some shampoos and conditioners on the market that are made to protect the hair from overdrying and splitting when heat is put in it. One of the names of these products is Thermasilk, I think.

What can i put in/on my hair to protect it when i am straightening it?

You did not say how you were going to straighten it. Are you using heat, or chemicals? In any case, there are products that will claim to protect hair, but if you are using heat the protection is only temporary. Heat (curling iron/flat iron) will damage hair, especially if you use it every day. If you have color in your hair, this also adds to the problem. Try to use a good shampoo and conditioner. Also, check out the website of Paula Begoun. She has detailed reviews of products.

whats the best spray/mousse to put on your hair before straightening?

Best thing to straighten hair?

Depends what you want: Do you want more of a straightening effect, hold effect or heat protectant effect?

For a straightening effect, I've tried many kinds, and any decent salon brands that say "hair straightening spray" will do!

Best thing to straighten hair?

I have been a huge fan of Hang Straight by Aveda for about 7 years now. It is more of a serum though and not a spray or mousse.

Best thing to straighten hair?

Try Lee stafford poker straight flat iron protection shine mist. It protects your hair from straighteners and makes it really straight, silky and shiny.

Best thing to straighten hair?

I use Redken products..its a salon product like Paul Mitchell. Its a Redken product and its called glass01 and it is used as a shield when you blow dry your hair or straighten it, instead of damaging your hair it acts as a shield and your actually straigtening the product and not your hair and same with blow drying. Its a awesome product, I use it all the time :)

Best thing to straighten hair?

I use umberto giani straightening cream, its really very good, you apply it to damp hair before blow drying and it leaves your hair straight and sleek xx

What's the quickest way to straighten hair?

I'm very fond of straight hair, but my hair is so extremely thick that it takes me 2 whole hours to straighten it. And the final result still isn't what I'm looking for.

This is after 2 hours of straightening my hair:

What's the quickest way to straighten hair?

I used to have really thick hair, so I went to the salon and got it thinned. I use Sunsilk's Straighten-Up or Suave's Sleek shampoo, both work really well. Then when my hair is damp, I use John Freida's Anti-Frizz Thermal Protection Serum, (its like a sunscreen for your hair for when you blow dry and straighten it, so its good!!!), but most of the time when I use the Suave Shampoo, I dont need the serum. I also have L'Oreal Hot!Straight creme that I also use when my hair is damp. I air dry my hair until it is damp, then I blow dry it making sure that the air is blowing downwards, so help seal in frizz and fly aways, ( I don't use a brush because that causes frizziness for me.)

I have layers so I part my hair (top layer and bottom layer) I straighten the bottom, then the top. After that I smooth my hair with a bit of John Freida's Brilliant Brunette to add some extra shine, sometimes I spray some hair spray into my hands and rub then onto the ends of my hair so that they will stay straight, without the crunchiness of spraying hairspray from the bottle.

Hope this helped!! Sorry for it being soooo long!!

Good luck!!!

well, Lavern from Lavern and Shirley use to iron her hair to make it straight.

Get a good flat iron

What's the quickest way to straighten hair?

put sum hair gel and from roots on stright down not alot of gel just a lil and keep on doing it

sum ppl do it with the iron it quick or blow dry stright down

What's the quickest way to straighten hair?

Well you can make it less thick by getting it thinned out by your hairdresser then straigntening it with a flat iron and to keep it straight put hairspray and comb through it so it doesn't get all hard. That's what I do.

What's the quickest way to straighten hair?

Thin out your hair, get it chemically straightened (relaxed, is it?), and get a new recommended straightener.

What's the quickest way to straighten hair?

i have thick hair too but after rebondin it doesnt look so thick and it is easy to handle your hair too because you wouldnt have to straighten it every day...

I need a hair opinion?

Why yes again =]

So I've been thinking about getting a new haircut. I've got the idea in my head about how I want to do it

Like this, only a bit longer with some choppy bangs:

http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff76/...

I wanted to know, if it would fit my face shape and such?

Here's ma pic :D

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c196/a...

For a better look at my bangs (I think they're a bit longer now... they go to like the bottom of my nose):

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c196/a...

I've also been thinking about getting a Japanese perm (permanent straightening thing) and I wanna know how that works out. I'm half black and half white so I unno. I mean my hair straightens pretty well as you can see with just some spray and a straightener but yeah.. D;

Please and thanks =]

I need a hair opinion?

Its a very nice haircut. Lots of layers are very nice, and its not TOO different from your current, so it'll look fine!

And don't get a perm, because you'll have to deal with roots all the time, just keep straightening it. If you're hair is VERY difficult to straighten, then get one, but if you look basically the same when its curlier, then don't.

I need a hair opinion?

i think some choppy bangs would look good with some blonde highlights

How should i wash my dry-ish hair?

i'm 'asian' but my hair is thick, wavy, and dry. it's mid length-so it goes down to my chest. since it's a holiday today, i have to wait till next week to get a trim. now, i'm about to go wash my hair, but i don't know how exactly i should cuz it's dry. i think i'm washing it wrong. i read alot and found out that i shouldn't use shampoo with sodium-but i have no choice right now. so should i just use about a dime size amount of shampoo and only put it on my scalp? then for conditioner, do i wait till my hair's dry or put it on when it's wet? and where? any more tips? i want to have silky straight hair like most asians have-like(look at the icons): http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus... but thats kinda impoosible for me even tho i already had jap hair straightening, but i still want something close at least XD ...thanks!

How should i wash my dry-ish hair?

okay here some tips for sily hair.

1. get shampoo and condition that says it hydrates your hair. like herbal essences hello hydration brand.

2.put a glob of shampoo the size of a golf ball in your hand. put in in all your hair. scalp especially.

3. put a quarter size glob of conditioner in your hair but not on your roots and scalp. just where it hangs down. do this when your hair is wet.

How should i wash my dry-ish hair?

it might help to use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners. Like Garnier Fructis has stuff for "dry or damaged hair" They have "Sleek and Shine" Maybe you should try washing your hair every other day, it might help your hair become less dry and more regular.

How should i wash my dry-ish hair?

maybe every other time you take a shower wash your hair..you can still put in conditioner every time but just dont wash your hair everytime..if you wash it too much you zap it of its natural oils..comb in a deep conditioner 3-4x/week through your whole head

How should i wash my dry-ish hair?

get a shampoo and conditioner for dry or damaged hair. squeeze as much water as possible out of your hair before you shampoo and condition it so your hair absorbs it better...shampoo every other day, but condition every time u shower. and dont use conditioner on the roots...it can make hair flat or oily looking. try a deep conditioner once a week. and dont use a golf ball size amount of shampoo like that one person said...if u do that u will be spending a lot of money on shampoo. a dime size amount is fine. if u use heat tools on your hair that also makes it dry so cut back if u can...good luck :)

How should i wash my dry-ish hair?

i have almost the exact same problem, i'd get a moisturizing shampoo %26amp; conditioner and then get a moisturizing/anti frizz thing for after

Should I go with Permanently straightened Hair?

I'm a guy with hair thats about 2 and 1/2 inches long. It's really curly. I hate it and want straight hair. I've tried my sisters straightening iron (remington wet 2 straight) with limited success it works alright on the front, top, and sides but does nothing for the back. Is there something better out there? Or should I just cough ou the money and get it straightened professionally?

Should I go with Permanently straightened Hair?

I have extremely curly hair and the only way I've ever straightened it is by blow drying it first, then taking either a flat iron or a large barreled curling iron and straightening it. It works awesome, but is time consuming.

I have a friend with curly hair and she got her's professionally straightened. It honestly looked awful. As bad as you could imagine it turning out. That has definitely turned me away from getting mine done.

But I have heard something though. I was told that if you straighten your hair at home and have a problem with uncontrollable frizz or just the lack of any straightening then a professional straightening would only bring about the same results. So I think you saying that the back doesn't turn out could either mean it will never turn out or maybe you just need someone to do the back for you.

Good luck!

Should I go with Permanently straightened Hair?

If you want straight , you will have to go to a salon. But this is not permanent, as your hair grows out the curl will come back. You will have to keep it fairly short to get most of the curl out or why not just enjoy the fact that you have naturally curly hair. A lot of women would love to have this, then we could throw away our curling irons.

Should I go with Permanently straightened Hair?

dont

it will fry ur hair

i have seen people and they look totally fake

and ur hair is damaged and might fall of

Should I go with Permanently straightened Hair?

U need to call around some salons because not all offer it, ask if they do the chi straightener. Its permanent but as your hair grows u need to get it maintained. It costs about 300-400 dollars per hour and is less damaging than flat ironing it everyday. I worked at a hair salon that offered this and the results are very nice and people are very happy with their results. When u call, ask them to schedule a consultation so that way u know how long it will take and about how much it will be.

Should I go with Permanently straightened Hair?

There are defiantly better straighteners out there, CHI for one ex. You'll have to cough up a lot of $$ for this straightener, but it is unbelievable. As for chemically straightening your hair, you will still have to daily maintenance on your hair. Some people don't realize that you still have to run a straightener over your hair. CS takes the majority of the curls out, but it can never be perfect. So, try it, it won't hurt! Just keep in mind that your regrowth will come in as curly as it was before the CS. It is not as low maintenance as people think. Try Redken's #12-a smoothing balm before blow drying and then try Redken's Spray Starch before running the straightener over the hair section.

How can u make your hair really smooth, shiny, and straight??

i have long brown hair, its straight but when its dry it gets so frizzy!! i dont know how to blow dry my hair, i try but its hard for me lol cause it still comes out frizzy and poofy, any other way besides hair straightening it? because i dont want my hair damaged

How can u make your hair really smooth, shiny, and straight??

The best way to make your hair shiny, smooth, and straight, is to use a ceramic flat iron.

Ceramic makes your hair shiny and smooth, and it also protects hair. The more ceramic, the better. It also doesn't damage your hair AS much as a regular flat iron.

In flat irons, i suggest the CHI. It is a little more expensive, but it has the most ceramic you would probably find in a flat iron. They are realllly good, I use one myself :]

Hope i helped. :]

How can u make your hair really smooth, shiny, and straight??

Put a small amount of hand lotion on your hands and run your hands through your hair. You should do this after it is dried but before you style it, and don't put in too much or it will look greasy. Also, make sure you condition your hair when you wash it and if you don't want hand lotion in your hair then use leave-in conditioner. Trust me, I had the same problem! :P

How can u make your hair really smooth, shiny, and straight??

I have the same issues...Try the following products...they have worked for me: Biosilk Silk Therapy by Farouk Systems USA; Bed Head TIGI Control Freak Serum #3...frizz control and straightener; and Redken outshine 01...anti-frizz polishing milk. I put a squirt of each in the palm of my hand, mix together and message into my wet hair. It works for me and I don't use a straightener iron. Good luck! Doncy

How can u make your hair really smooth, shiny, and straight??

wash your hair with sunsilk anti-poof shampoo and conditioner.

air dry.

then apply john frieda frizz ease serum.

How can u make your hair really smooth, shiny, and straight??

Hair serum makes it soft and shiny, just don't use too much because it'll make your hair looking greasy and oily.

At home permanently straighten hair?

Well I have been thinking to get quantum thermal straightening. The box says japapense style and it won't damage. Is this true? because i have really wavy hair and i don't want to damage it! I just want really straight permanent hair thats cheap.

At home permanently straighten hair?

you should go to a salon and ask but i dont think you should trust unknown brands because it might damage ur hair

At home permanently straighten hair?

Some brands are trust worthy if you spend around 100 dollars, still takes a few hours to do but its worth it.

Sometimes the do-at-home kits and such damage your hair.

And its good to have a gloss put on so you have straight and shiny hair so it doesn't look fried.

I say just go to a salon and do it because many things can go wrong.

(Besides, who would by anything that says on the box it won't do any damage/its bad?)

At home permanently straighten hair?

Honestly anything chemical or heat does damage to your hair. If you want good results remember you get what you pay for. So you might want to invest in going to a hair stylist to get a japanese straightner.

Is there a way to permanently straighten hair?

I've heard of permanent hair straighteners but do they actually work? I love how my hair looks when its straightened from its natural curls but I hate having to go through the same procedure of straightening it every day and I know how damaging that can be on it as well. Is there a way to at least relax it so it will be easier to straighten? Thanks.

Is there a way to permanently straighten hair?

Salon straightening with straightening solutions works to keep your hair straight so you can get out of the shower and go, no waves or curls. It's easy to do and most hair dressers know how to do it - it's just perm solution that they comb though your hair until your is straight, then they neutralize it and *voila* you have straight hair.

You'll have to have your "roots" or regrowth straightened after about 3 or 4 months, but that's no big deal. I've had it done, my hair looked fabulous. Go get a consultation from your hairdresser and see what they think of the idea, they can tell you what it will cost and if your hair can handle it.

Is there a way to permanently straighten hair?

there is one way Japenese Straightening. It costs about 300-1000 depending on which salon you get it done and how long it takes. This has process had worked for hundreds of people leaving their hair shiny and even more healthier. Frizzless and completely straight.

Is there a way to permanently straighten hair?

go for a Rebonding which is so popular in asia...

it last for abt 6mths or so...

there's another straightening called Relaxing.. but doesn't work as well as Rebonding...

Is there a way to permanently straighten hair?

yeah at a salon and it willl like last u 1 to 1 1/2 years.......

Is there a way to permanently straighten hair?

use a hair straightner

Is there a way to permanently straighten hair?

The Japanese systems are very expensive and only available in big cities. Combing a perm through hair that is naturally curly does not work well. That method is usually for taking out a perm. Go to your salon and ask for a chemical straightener. I use Matrix Opti-Smooth in my salon. The process does take a few hours. Extremely curly hair still will not be stick straight, but it will be so much easier to flat iron at home.

Is it okay to straighten hair with product in it?

im a male with fine medium length hair. I use a straightener to help stick up my hair a little in the back. Is it okay to use a few clay products and hair spray before straightening it?

Is it okay to straighten hair with product in it?

yah it should be , but you will get the product burned on to the plates , you can clean them off with warm water and sugar

Is it okay to straighten hair with product in it?

it shouldn't hurt ur hair becuz the product forms a barrier between your hair and any direct heat from the straightener, but it might burn the plates on ur straightener

Is it okay to straighten hair with product in it?

It should be fine as long as you also use a heat protectant.

Are there any straightening products or anything like that to hold your hair straight all day???

i have PE...and my hair doesnt stay straight

Are there any straightening products or anything like that to hold your hair straight all day???

I use Clinique hair straightening balm, sometimes with a flat iron.

Are there any straightening products or anything like that to hold your hair straight all day???

Yes! I go to Sally Beauty stores. They have a product line called "Beyond The Zone". There is a flat iron protection spray called "Turn Up The Heat" and a shine serum called "Straight Shot". They're pretty cheap too. You could probably get both of them for like $10 to $12. They both work wonders and they both smell good too.

Are there any straightening products or anything like that to hold your hair straight all day???

Curling wax to straighten hair?

I'm in-between perms so I just want to run a straightening comb through my hair to take the frizz out. Is curling wax ok for this and what type is the best? My hair is thick and long although right now I let it air dry and it's real bushy / frizzy.

Curling wax to straighten hair?

In my opinion, don't use curling wax. Curling wax is generally very heavy, and that could actually singe your hair.

Check out pressing cremes or pressing oils. Even heat-activated gels and polishes should work. These products are much lighter than curling wax.

Curling wax to straighten hair?

no use mayonaise and lemon juice. trust me im a doctor

How can i keep my hair straight the whole day after straightening it?

Before straightening your hair put some mousse on it, and once you're finished straightening it put some hairspray all over it. Sorry if I didn't help. =]

How can i keep my hair straight the whole day after straightening it?

It's more effective if you use a higher setting on your hair straightener depending on how curly your hair is. For me, my hair's naturally straight so I just use the lowest setting if I ever have hair problems (such as bed hair). Also, this is an obvious one, but try not to get your hair wet after you straighten it.

How can i keep my hair straight the whole day after straightening it?

get a straightener

How can i keep my hair straight the whole day after straightening it?

i use straightening gel while it's wet then i blow dry it and then straighten it with my Chi straightener, which is amazing!

How can i keep my hair straight the whole day after straightening it?

if you have hair that doesnt stay straight easily

try hairspray! works magic.

but dont use a lot cause you dont want hard hair the whole day.

How can i keep my hair straight the whole day after straightening it?

Try Straight Sexy Hair (shampoo, conditioner, and hairspray), works wonders for me.

Highlights after Brazilian hair straightener?

I just (3 weeks ago) underwent the Brazilian hair straightening process. I have very thick, curly, blonde hair (that I get highlighted maybe twice per year) and it worked terrifically! I would like to have my hair highlighted in the not-so-distant future... how long must I wait? Is it safe at all?

Highlights after Brazilian hair straightener?

Brazilian hair straightening is actually very dangerous. Because they use formaldehyde, it can actually damage your skin, not to mention how dangerous the fumes are. I'd wait at least three months to get highlights, and I suggest you not try the Brazilian hair straightener again.

Highlights after Brazilian hair straightener?

they now have a new formula that is formaldehyde free Report It

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

lately my hair has been flat, but usually its not ... i just need some tips! thankssssss :]]

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

! i think without using any product its difficult. try plaiting it and it'l add volume to it!!!

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

tease it

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

try teasing your hair! always work for me. Or it can also be called "backcombing". Just lift up a strand, then comb it in the OPPOSITE direction as you would normally comb your hair. ( so it's like towards your scalp). it may look a bit messy, but you can untaggle it afterwards

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

try mousse and u can find it anywhere. and it doesnt cost that much

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

straightening it defeats the purpose of volume. It dries your hair out and makes it fragile and brittle thats why its so lifeless. Try blow drying your hair whil its flipped over and use a round wire brush

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

take a barrel brush and a just keep brushing it %26amp;%26amp; take a blow dryer and just keeep blowing and brushing it .

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

Flip your head upside down and spray. after spraying pick up the backlayer and tease it. Or backcomb with a round barrel brush or pick. then spray again.

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

Tease/back combe.

How do u make ur hair have volume w/o using product. and after straightening it? :]?

the best thing to do is use velcro rolls after blow drying/straightning and after you remove them, flip your hair upside down and blast some cool air, and flip right back up :) good luck
