"is it best to straighten hair when..."
when you get out of the shower and you towel dry your hair until its damp? because i want my hair to look silky and not the ends to look damp. i got my hair layered in the front like on Friday and the lady would spray my hair with water, you know to cut it better, and after she straightened it, my hair looked so nice and silky. so i was just wondering if maybe thats a better way to make my hair appear silkier [ i dont want to use any products ... ] and also, the ends didnt look dried out like how mine do after i straightened it [ this was in the morning probably 3 hours after i showered ]
so yea... answers please? thank you guys!!

never straighten your hair when its wet unless you're using a blow dryer first. But if you do blow dry use some heat protectant for your hair and do it in small sections. Then go with the flat iron again applying heat protectant Biosilk and Redken are good products they will make your hair look silky and feel smooth. The reason why your hair isn't coming out like in the salon is becuase they know exactly how to do hair so that it will look perfect and have the best quality products. something you can do is ask her what products they use and what are the best tips to get your hair like that.

when you get your hair done at a salon they use professional products on your hair, they are professionals who know exactly how to make your hair look awesome! It could be the products that she used that make your hair look so great. I wouldn't straighten damp hair, too damaging! ask her what products she used and if she can give you any tips to do your hair at home. hairdressers love to answer questions and help you look awesome.

neverevereverever straighten your hair if its even a little bit wet. i learned that the hard way. unless you have a wet2dry straightener, its not a smart thing to do. if your ends are really dry, theyre probably dead or split and should be trimmed off. or, you can use some heat protecting styling products that'll make your hair seem really soft and silky. i use garnier fructis length and strength leave in conditioner in a small round bottle. it leaves my hair soft and feeling great and undamaged.
