Hi, i'm asian and i have natural curly/wavey hair. I didn't like it so about last year i had a Japanese Hair Straightening done. It came out great, but after about 9 months, my hair started to grow in its natural form. So right now i the bottom half of my hair is straight, while the top half is curly. It makes my hair really puffy. I've tried creams and stuff but nothing works. I'm not really into doing another Japanese Straightening ( it took hours and was painful...-_-) and not really into straightening my hair every morning with an iron. I was thinking that if i let my hair grow out and cut off the straighten part it might look fine. What should i do? please help! T_T

Hi, I'm asian as well and have naturaly curly hair. I did the same thing as you did. I had my hair straightened with the Japanese thermal system and I loved it. My hair did grow and the top part was pretty puffy as well. I had my top re-straightened one more time thereafter. When the new growth came back for the second time, I got sick of re-straightening it because it was tiring and cost $$. So I chopped off all the straightened parts and decided to go au-natural and curly. I am so glad I did that. I'm loving my curly hair now. There's tons of products out there for curly hair and I've found a couple that I'm loving. You should definately try out the curly hair. It was NOT as bad as I had imagined it to turn out. A lot of people's told me that the curly hair looks a lot better on me than the straight hair. Really give it a try, after all it's only hair and you can change it whenever.

Try getting a anti-frizz serum of something.

And blow drying the top of your hair would help.

I am in the same position. I am Asian and had my hair straightened. Not only was it painful, but it cost $600.00 for it. My hair is long enough for it to pull so it is somewhat straight. You may need to grow it long. Otherwise, you will need to blow dry it straight. But, curley hair is "in" now.

Well as for a hairstyle you can put your hair in a high ponytail and put gel on the top half to make it look like the straight half.Just make sure you don't use gel everyday cause it can damage your hair.Or you can blow dry the frizzy half to make it look straight like the bottom half.I can relate to your problem because i have a relaxer on my hair.But I always continue putting more relaxer on, one time I waited a very long time before I went back to the salon and when I got the relaxer on it was so painful that I almost cried.So what I do now is that I go every 2 months and it doesn't even hurt because my roots have not grown that much so maybe you should try the same.
