no and most contain high levels of silicone which builds up and up and up leaving hair lanky.
try using bi carb instead of shampoo once a week for a couple of weeks to strip all preexisting silicone then get some professional straightening done. costs a bit up front but can last up to a year.

nope thats a load of poppycock. it may work if your hair is naturally straight anyways but if its anything else the only way to get it straight is ghd's. it may help to keep the cuticles of your hair straight after its been straightnened but thats about it.

No, at best they make it easier to straighten but I don't notice a difference when I use a straightening shampoo versus using a regular shampoo. It seems to take me just as long to straighten.

I used it when my hair is curly, but it makes NO difference whatsoever. Might as well just use their totally twisted. I think that all their formulas are the same, except in a different bottle with a different scent and color.

Not at all. I have a sort of wavy-straight combo, and after trying just about every straightening shampoo/conditioner in the drugstore aisle nothing made it much straighter. In fact, all of those Herbal Essences "specialized" shampoo and conditioners didn't do much for me.
