I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

Anything I should use/know? (When should I straighten it, how, good straighteners, etc.)

wait at least a couple hours after showering to straighten it. Preferably over night. A good straitener is the revlong 1 inch professional series, but in general just make sure to get a ceramic one. Use dove's protection line to protect your hair from heat damage, it works wonders and will prevent your hair from splitting at the ends. Good luck!

Try to remember to always use heat protectant gel or cream or spray etc. It prevents bad frizzy ends or spilt ends.

Whatever you do do not get one at target or walmart etc. Try sally hanson, ulta, or even those places in the mall where they straighten your hair for free to show you how good it works. DON'T GET A CHI! Don't put too much product in your hair when you straghten.

GOOD LUCK!

I have a remington wet to straight straightener iron. It works very good on all hair types. It takes a while to straighten your own hair. Break it up into sections, at least four and straighten it in layers so you don't miss any parts. Try that flat iron though or a golden hot iron. Those work really good too.

if you decide to get a perm, get a kiddie perm because they are less harmful on the haed andstick 2 one perm if u can. also keep your head greased or not dry. if you wash your hair then wrap it and set under the dryer. i use optimum thats not a kiddie perm but i been using it 4 a while so i dont want to switch over. if you straight comb it go to a dominican salon.

I also have thick hair buts its really curly and I straighten it. I just recommend that you get a Chi straightener. They are kinda expensive at 120 bucks but totally worth it. It straightens your hair faster and damages it less. I also recommend that you don't straighten it every day just straighten it and don't wash it for 2 or 3 days or more if your hair doesn't get oily fast. Hope that helped!

well i have very curly hair and i have a CHI straightener. they run for about $135. yes i kno this might sound a bit pricey but omg let me tell u when use this thing my hair is soft and shiny and it stays straight!!! and it dosn't take long at all to straighten it either. this thing is a miracle! its worth the price. plus if u get the leave in stuff that goes with it it helps a lot. and any shampoo and conditioner works but i like Aussie and the loreal shampoo and conditioner in the orange or pink bottles.

ps when u shampoo ur hair and stuff the hole time ur in the shower after u shampoo it leave the conditioner in the whole time, this will make it so much softer...happy straightening!!

i'm the same way. i use CHI hair straighteners and they work really well. you should straighten it every few days(but make sure you use a protective spray first). and put your hair up but leave a little part down, straighten that part, let more hair down, straighten it, etc. until you're all done. so hope this helped閳俱儮娅忛埦?br>I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

Okay, first of all, straighteners are the best way 4 grls w/ wavy/curly hair, to have this smooth, sleek, style. I have very curly hair and am very pleased w/ my conair max. heat (the really big one, lol) straightener, only 20$ at target. K, when your hair is damp, use V05 Make It Straight Gel, and i am prepared to swear, that stuff does help straighten your hair (it won't b straight, but you'll c improvement.) When your hair is totally dry, put it up w/ clips and take a two inch section of hair and run the iron down,(get close to scalp as possible.) whenever you finish a section, undo the clips, and continue till finished, finish w/ an anti frizz spray, and your good. REMEMBER-- to avoid damage keep the setting on low, and use "heat activated" creams or gels, such as V05, good luck!

Well I have very thick wavy hair and for Christmas my mom got me a Paul Mitchell Straightener. And let me tell you, that thing works wonders! It takes me about ten minutes to straighten it. These straighteners go for about 120$ but its worth it. Also, I use Bed Head Control Freak Frizz control and Straightener stuff. What you do: Work throughly through damp hair and rinse it out. Then you use the other gel when your hair is damp. Then you Air dry and Style it however you want it. Here are some other products that work!

straight hair is overrated. but, in the event you still want to acheve this look, use that silver electrical tape and promptly tape your wet hair in place. most people use pink tape for this, but from my own experience, the silver electrical tape works best. whatever you do, do not use superglue for this. i tried it and everything was a mess. i lost all feeling in my forehead for weeks and i no longer have eyebrows.
