Hair chemically straightened?

I want to know how long a chemically straightened hair lasts. I am thinking about getting my hair chemically straightened. but I want to know how long it will last and how much it will cost. I have a straightener but my hair is SUPER thick and curly so it takes a long time. I don't like straightening it but I like the outcome. I can't wear my hair down because its all poofy. So how long does the chemical straightened hair cost?

You're talking about the Permanent straightening tech. right that takes hours to achieve at the salon?

I got that. $300 for long, thick hair like mine at the JCPenney salon. They don't really care about how thick your hair is, the length is what they look at more. It burns though, and they rinse your hair so many times and then repeat combing your hair with the chemical.

Hair was stick straight for about 7 months, and then it was just straight after that. I say it lasted for about a year and 1/2. It lasted pretty long actually, I forgot I even had bushy hair.

I say you go for it. It's really worth it! Just don't go to some BS salon. The higher the price, the better quality.

heeeyy

omgg my hair is the same way!

it's super thick and curly and it looks ugly like that :(

aghh but getting your hair chemically straightened isn't healthy for it.i think i know why our hair goes poofy

it's because we have layers and im sure we both dyed our hair or sumthing lol but yeah anyways dont get that done its not good for your hair chemicals+ straighteners and curling irons n every other heating product is bad! it burns your hair and it becomes fried and dry and you'll have split ends

my hair is horrible:( it used to be long and healthy

whyd i cut it?!

I have very thick shoulder length hair, and it was slightly permed at the time I had it straightened last May. It's now starting to get a little wave back in the underneath layers where it was really curly. I got better results than a flat iron. I paid $15 to have my hair chemically straightened

ooooh, PLEEEEEEEASE don't do it!

I have the same type of hair (very bushy and curly), and had my hair chemically straightened several times in the mid-80's... and (no lie!) it took about five YEARS for my hair to get "right" again... and even today, it's still not the same.

It would break off in HANDFULS when I brushed or combed it, and even today, I have two "bald spots" (not completely bald, just noticeably thinner.)

In retrospect, it just wasn't worth it...

if i were you, i wouldn't do it. my friends sister went to get it done, and they had two people do it at once. one person was some chick who worked there for like 2 months and the other girl had worked there for like 21/2 years. one side looked great, but the other side looked terrible. plus, over the next couple of days, the girl who had only worked there for a little while, the side she did, her hair started to fall out because she had done something wrong. i would NEVER do that after i heard about that

if you get it "thermal reconditioned", which is the best straightening technique right now, then it will stay like that until it grows out.
