Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

I REALLY want to get my hair perm. straightened, I have been thinking about it for years, but I don't know everything about it. Does anyone know the pros and cons of perm. straightening your hair and how I could possibly avoid the cons ?

THANKS ! :)

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

DONT DO IT

it will PERMANENTLY DAMAGE your hair

at first it will be nice, but then you keep having to get touchups, you get chemical burns on your scalp, when your hair gets wet it smells like sulfur.

TRUST ME.

I have had them before.

I also know people with licenses in this department. It will ruin your hair. and the only way to change it back is to grow it out and cut the permed hair off.

It took me 2 years to grow mine out.

Dont let any man tell you any different. It also leaves you vulnerable for balding.

SERIOUSLY DONT DO IT

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

it will last for about 6 months and dont do it more than twice or you'll damage your hair

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

im thinking about the same thing

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

I'd go for it!

My hair was naturally curly, and I got a straightening perm.

It's SO much easier to manage.

Uhmm, I think if you get a bad straightning perm if could lead to loads of breakage. But idk.

girls that i know whove done it like it, think about how often you wear it straight, and if it is more than the times you wear it natural, go for it and save yourself the time of straightening it

If done in a salon it's great you just have to make sure you have the funds to keep it up. At home I wouldn't recommend you can burn your hair.

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

I think the advantage of changing your look every once in a while is vital, so don't do anything permanent, just follow your mood, at least that's what I do, for example right now I m shaving my head, but I m sure in a few months or year I would love to keep it longer or viceversa.

Permanent does not mean that this process will last forever, but it does mean it lasts through regular washing. During the actual process, chemical hair straighteners can put out toxic fumes and may burn your scalp or skin if it comes in contact. Every few months, you will need to have your hair relaxed or thermally reconditioned because the new growth of your hair will begin to really show through at this time.

The most important disadvantage with chemical hair straighteners is the damage it does to your hair. Whenever you use these chemicals on your hair, it actually pulls apart the protein bonds found in your hair. This makes your hair vulnerable to the sun, pollution, and heat. Immediately after having a chemical straightener performed, always follow up with conditioners and other products that will help to keep your hair healthy and full of luster and shine.

just buy a straightener. Permenant damages your hair.

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

Yes because you can always make it curlier if you want. You could also invest in a ceramic flat iron and just straighten your hair yourself if you don't want the perm.

I had it done and it works great. Straight doesn't mean sexy so don't feel like you have to do it. I only do it once every 7 months and then my hair gets a little wavy. Keep conditioning!

Ok I am african american, I have used relaxers/perms up until 2 years ago. This chemical changing of the hair is not for someone who does not take EXCELLENT care of their hair. The first year or two is pretty easy, because your hair isn't over processed yet. As time goes on. You hair will need attention. Deep conditioning and frequent trimming of split ends are both REQUIREMENTS. Condition, Condition, Condition. Remember also that if you go straight, there is no going back natural, without cutting your hair. I cut all of my hair off 2 years ago. It is now back length and naturally healthy. Just make sure that this a decision that you can commit to. Kinda like a tattoo, but not as serious. You will have to live with your decision for a long while though, unless you shave your head. Hope you make the right choice for you!

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

I've done it! When the process first came out..about 15 years ago, I couldn't wait to try it. My hair is thick and has just enough wave in ti to be a pain. I wanted a straight bob that stayed straight. Bottom line it was a fun thing to do..lasting results..?? NOPE!

It's hard on your hair..they put a permanent solution of some kind and pull the sections really tight wrap in foil and put big straight clip things in it...after it drys it's pretty darn straight!! The whole thing seems fine...the humidity doesn't seem to bother your hair anymore.etc. BUT.. it doesn't last and it's expensive. I've tried the do it yourself things at home..big mistake..they dry your hair out and that's about it. Any straight look you might get is phony looking and short lived.. I don't think there is any way to actually change the texture of hair...I could be wrong..I know you see darling black girls with hair shiny and straight as a pin...go figure..??

Should I get my hair permanentely straightened?

Well, while the hair that's on your head now can be straightened, the hair that's growing out of your scalp won't be. So about every 6-8 months, you'd have to go through that again. Stinky, miserable, burning... I try to get body, and you're straightening, so maybe they'll use different chemicals on you.

Hope I didn't talk you out of it. If there's one thing a woman should be happy with, it's her hair and her toenails (bright red, of course!!).

well, doing that to your hair wil damage it loads and you might ending up regretting it but u gotta think to yourself what you want more

unmageagable healthy hair

unhealthy mangeable (cant spell haha) hair

i think that you shouldnt get it dead straight, maybe loose curls or wavy, cause thats still easy to straighten, but going dead straight..well you might regret that

so good luck but make sure u do lots of conditioning treatments on ur hair!!
