How To Straighten Hair COMPLETELY With A Flat Iron.?

So I've been straightening my hair for quite some time, but I always have a hard time getting one particular section of my hair to its straightest, and that's up top towards the roots on the left side of my head. There, the hair does not wave OUTWARDS, like the rest of my hair (Which is naturally very wavy), but instead waves side-to-side, making it hard to straighten. Does anyone know any techniques to get such hard-to-straighten areas straight with a flat-iron?

Always take little bits of hair at a time, it will get straightened quicker and better. To do the top part of your head, hold your hair all the way up (probably easier if someone else does it for you) and inch the flat iron as close to your scalp as you can without burning yourself. Hold it down for longer so it will be straighter, but done burn your hair!

I generally spray oil sheen on my hair then flat iron it and my hair comes out bone straight.

Use some mink oil to protect the strands and smooth them out. You can buy it at Sally's beauty supply specifically for straight irons.

I put what I call lube on it... but the real name is a spray gloss- just makes your hair shinny! But if you just spray the section that doesnt get that straight it helps out a lot!

when i do girls hair for them and have trouble at the roots, i take thin sections from the root using a comb and lift it vertically in the air. I then use the flat iron and put it as close as i can get it to the head then straighten up, and then down the side of the head. Had trouble wording that so sorry if you dont understand!
